Lift, sprint, jump, bounce.
Blueprint for Sustained Success
Move that Iron
Lifting weights will burn calories long after you are done, it will allow you to add muscle which will increase your metabolism. This means you will burn more calories throughout the day. So, lifting weights will make you feel less depressed, perform better and look better naked. WIN!
If you focus on using compound movements which utilize multiple joints and big muscle groups you will maximize the return on your investment in the weight room. Use more muscle, burn more calories and build more muscle. Simple. Compound movements are exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench press, barbell rows, pull ups, etc.
Sprint
There is no replacement for sprinting. It is the most extreme of all human movement. It is a symphony of muscles rapidly contracting and relaxing. Sprinting is a fat burner, muscle builder and keeps you athletic. If you haven’t sprinted in a while ease into it and reach out to someone who has a little more knowledge than you and can put a plan together to get you back in the game. It’s easier than you think, and takes less time and space than you think.
Jump and Bounce
This keeps your tendons, ligaments and muscles springy and athletic. Father Time is always chasing us but, getting old isn’t the main driver as to why we can’t perform these tasks anymore. If you don’t use it you lose it. Don’t make it easier for Father Time to catch you. Keep jumping, bouncing and bounding for as long as you can.
